Light References to Geometry ArchivesΒΆ

Using References to load large geometry archives is slow and consumes a lot of memory. For that purpose, it is possible to create light archive references, call ArchRef.

Create a ArchRef node

Press Ctrl+Space to open the node picker, then type ArchRef and press Enter. This create an ArcheRef node. Click the Reference > File > Browse button to pick a geometry archive.

Geometry archives loaded this way are not imported or referenced directly in the scene, but will be visible in the OpenGL viewer and in the renderer. It will not be editable, but can be overriden using the RenderGraph system, and the content can be peeked using the Toggle Live SceneGraph button of the Node List.

Loaded geometry is always referenced as a child hierarchy if the ArchRef node in the resulting SceneGraph.
